What is ASG EcO2?
ASG EcO2 is what we call the part of our company that is dedicated to restoring forests and trees. Sometimes when a homeowner installs solar, it is in their best interest to remove a tree that may be hanging over or covering their roof. The reason being, is that shaded areas are less likely to get the maximum benefit of solar rays hitting their panels. That seems logical, right? What we did not want to do was simply cut down a tree and leave it at that. We knew we didn’t want to take away from the environment or local ecosystems in any way, so we vowed to give back!
What is The Goal of ASG EcO2?
The goal of ASG EcO2 is simple. When there is no other option but to remove a tree from a homeowners property when installing solar or doing a roof, we plant a new tree on the property to replace it. We work with homeowners to determine the best location for the new tree, so it will be in an area that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but in the future when the tree grows tall, it will also not impede the solar panels or cause issues with the roof! We want to foster care for the environment. Climate change is not a battle that can be won by solar panels alone; many factors must work cohesively to achieve our goals.
What Have We Done So Far?
We work with many local growers and nurseries to get our saplings that we use for ASG EcO2. We are hoping to expand that in the future, so we can do more in giving back with ASG EcO2. We have high hopes for partnering with some very well known environmental organizations and charities in the future, so stay tuned for those updates!
